Rosé as a wine is usually a throw away category. Something forgotten in our quest to find the best reds or whites or blends. They're historically and in most of the world, sweeter and of lower quality but recently rosés are becoming more and more respected, consumers are realising the effort that goes into making wine with just the right amount of colour and balanced sweetness.
Tavel, in the Rhone valley, is the an appellation that only makes rosé wines, so they've had hundreds of years to perfect the art of deliciously balanced, orangey gold wines. There are also places around the world that are taking more time to produce better quality rosés, like Spain and Italy.
