Wine Enthusiasts Wine Star Award Nominees
2020 marks the twenty first anniversary of the Wine Enthusiast’s Annual Wine Star Awards where individuals and organisations are honoured for outstanding contributions to the development of the wine and drinks world. Across 15 categories including Winemaker of the Year, New World Winery of the Year and Viticulturist of the Year.
This year there are a couple of names the South African Wine Industry can be very proud of: Radford Dale, started by Ben Radford and Alex Dale in 1998 with a focus on minimal intervention wine making and ethics in the wine making world. Ntsiki Biyela recognised as South Africa's First Black Female winemaker having started Aslina Wines and sitting on the board of the Pinotage Youth Development Academy. Rosa Kruger has played an important role in some of South Africa's iconic wines, cataloging, preserving and discussing old vines and their appreciation worldwide through the Old Vine Project.
